How do i talk to girls in general?

im 17 and i find it very hard to talk to girls i get really nervous and sometimes freeze up and forget what i wanted to say to them, i don't know if it's because i'm shy or if it's because i fear what they are going to think about me can someone with expirence give me some advice, maybe some tips on what to talk about or how to approach them and how to be more confident doing it, i really need helpHow do i talk to girls in general?

I think that its the shyness that takes its place... nut be yourself. i know its hard but like, say hi and how are you... a conversation will appear and when you get used to it, your fine.
Be yourself! I know it's hard to do, but girls are no reason to fret!! Girls have the same issue with talking to guys and if you're too shy to approach them then it will never work. Just try talking to some casually, knowing that the girls are shy too should help you talk to them easier. I'm a girl and there's this one really shy guy that I'm always afraid to talk to because I don't want to make him uncomfortable but I really like him and one of his friends told me that he likes me. So as you see, If you are shy, there could be a girl that really likes you if you just give it a shot...Just try to talk to some girls...Sorry for the long answer haha.
Stop freaking out, talk to them as if your out playing basketball and some guy ask to play you say yes and you both talk like y'all are buddies.Nothing changes except she's more on the Feminine side
A good way is to think of them as a guy, just a friend, or think of them as someone over yahoo answers, u want to hear what they say, but they are a nameless person
