How do you talk to girls you don't know without coming off as random and flirty?

okay just starting to know this girl..not expecting to get a date just practicing but it seems to me when i come up to a girl in my class she starts smiling and i get uptight because i get the idea she thinks im trying to flirt with her off the bat....sooo how do i avoid that and that same time get to know them and not annoy them? yes i have learned asking alot of questions can be bad....so if she comes to class ...can i say hey hows it going? smile? then say so what are you majoring in? idk it seems to so hard to say this in person!! online when i talk to agirl it comes off so easy to me!! and they enjoy me !!

i mention that we should study when i just started talking to them lol so they might think im flirtingHow do you talk to girls you don't know without coming off as random and flirty?
maybe she is actually keen on you. particularly if she wants to flirt and have some fun. but then again, she may want to have fun.

flirting can be friendly as well. it doesnt always have to lead to dating or whatever. just have some fun with her, and things will come more naturally. if she wants to flirt, go with it. just dont pull any moves on her. if she wants to pull some moves, just go with it. like you said, its just practice. =)How do you talk to girls you don't know without coming off as random and flirty?
Try asking her what the homework was for that day, that leads into stuff like how did you do and also ask her opinion on if the homework was fair or something like that so you can figure out a little more about her
Talk to her when wearing a milkshake costume.
Well, it sounds like you are flirting. But I'm not so sure that's a bad thing.
The ';Hey, how's it going'; *smile* is a fine way to start. I wouldn't recommend asking stupid questions like ';what was the homework for today?'; That can be annoying when guys ask questions they know/should know the answers to. It also can make you look ignorant. Don't spend tons of time talking to her right away. Just a little here and there until you learn more about her and feel more comfortable.
